Why vacuum matters
Shaving creams contain many soaps and surfactants. Therefore, air stirred in would already cause foam in the vessel. As a result, the density changes and exact filling becomes difficult. Mixing and deaeration under vacuum are thus key steps.
With shaving foam and shaving gel from an aerosol can, the propellant is only added during filling. So the product only foams when it is used.

What must a good shaving cream do?

How is shaving cream produced?
Fat and water phases are emulsified hot, fatty acids saponified if required, homogenised, cooled while stirring and actives and fragrances added.
Why produce under vacuum or protective atmosphere?
Premature air intake causes foam in the vessel, dosing problems during filling and lower product quality. Vacuum keeps the product air-free.
