Hair care products are used after washing the hair. That is why their pH value is usually in the acidic range. As a result, they smooth the hair surface, improve combability and support hair repair. We plan and supply plants that help you produce these products reliably. Find out more in our cosmetics section.
Typical ingredients
The composition of hair care cosmetics can vary widely. Common ingredients include:
What the plant should deliver
Production runs in several steps. Powerful homogenising mixers therefore take on the following tasks:
- Processing the water and fat phase with heat or in a cold process
- Melting, dissolving or mixing raw materials right before they are added
- Agitating and homogenising high-viscosity components safely
- Reducing particle size and distributing active ingredients finely by dispersing
- Monitoring the pH value throughout production
- CIP cleaning to the latest standards and hygiene rules
The same plants often also suit related products such as shampoo or hair conditioner. We are happy to advise you, including on used mixers.
FAQ: Producing hair care products
Which hair care products are made with homogenising mixers?
Rinses and conditioners, hair treatments and masks, leave-in products, styling gels and creams as well as shampoos.
Why do hair care products have an acidic pH?
A slightly acidic pH closes the cuticle layer of the hair, making it smoother, shinier and easier to comb.
Hot or cold process?
Both are possible. Wax- and fat-containing emulsions are usually made hot, many modern formulations also cold. The plant should handle both.
Which plant is suitable?
Vacuum homogenising mixers with scraper agitator, phase vessels, pH measurement and CIP that reliably process high-viscosity products.
Does SEEFRIED offer plants for hair care?
