Typical applications of the 30 mm seal

The 30 mm mechanical seal belongs to size 3 homogenisers in larger production plants with batch sizes of around 600 to 1,500 litres. At these batch sizes, unplanned downtime is expensive – timely maintenance and an exchange seal pay off particularly well.

  • Production plants from 600 to 1,500 litres
  • Standard drive of size 3 (reinforced drive: 35 mm)
  • Also suitable for circulation agitators with a 30 mm shaft

Why silicon carbide?

Silicon carbide (SiC) is particularly wear-resistant – even with abrasive raw materials. That is why the standard version uses four SiC seal rings. Other material pairings are possible for special applications.

Replace seal and shaft together

If the mechanical seal is leaking, the shaft should be checked too: with increasing age, imbalance can occur, and the shaft wears in the area of the seal. A new seal on an old shaft lasts much less long. We supply the matching shaft and fit both on request in our workshop in Weyhe or on site at your plant.

Service around your seal

  • Damage analysis of every removed seal with a short report
  • Testing after repair or fitting, on request with a test report
  • Collection by courier and return delivery
  • Exchange seal to avoid downtime
Order the 30 mm mechanical seal Tell us the machine type, year of manufacture and shaft Ø – we will check the fit and send you a quotation with delivery date.

Frequently asked questions about the mechanical seal 30 mm

Does the 30 mm seal also fit homogenisers with a reinforced drive?

No. Size 3 homogenisers with a reinforced drive have a 35 mm shaft and need the 35 mm mechanical seal. The actual shaft diameter is always decisive.

How do I know whether my homogeniser has a 30 mm shaft?

The type plate, documentation and a batch size of about 600 to 1,500 litres are indicators. As there are two shaft diameters for size 3, the diameter in the seal area should be measured. Feel free to send us photos.

How can I avoid long downtime on a 1,000-litre plant?

With an exchange seal: we replace the seal, your plant keeps running, and the removed seal is analysed with a short report.
