Manufacturing cosmetic masks

Cosmetic masks open the pores and deep-cleanse the skin. They can be end products or base materials for further processing. We design and supply homogenising mixers that enable you to manufacture masks of consistently high quality. More on this under Cosmetics.

Cream, gel and clay masks

Masks are multi-phase preparations made of water, oil, wax and active ingredients. They should spread easily and be washable with water. Depending on the type, each variant has its own requirements:

Cream masks

They need fine, stable emulsions, similar to creams.

Gel masks

Gelling agents must be incorporated without lumps, as with cosmetic gels.

Clay masks

Clay or healing earth bring high powder contents with them. This calls for reliable powder induction and powerful agitators.

Requirements for the homogenising mixer

Manufacturing frequently brings together substances of very different viscosities. The plant should therefore offer the following:

  • Robust machines with a wide performance range for stable, narrowly distributed emulsions
  • Scraper system independent of the direction of rotation
  • Efficient radial and vertical mixing at high viscosity
  • Intensive homogenising with infinitely adjustable shear energy
  • Smaller particles with a narrow particle size distribution
  • Aseptic GMP design with integrated CIP system

This allows you to achieve significantly higher product quality. Are you planning a plant for face masks? We will be happy to advise you, including on used mixers.

FAQ: Manufacturing cosmetic masks

What types of cosmetic masks are there?

Cream and gel masks, peel-off masks, clay and earth masks (e.g. with kaolin) as well as sheet masks soaked in a liquid serum.

How are cream and clay masks manufactured?

The water and oil phases are emulsified, powders such as clay or kaolin are drawn in under vacuum and finely dispersed, and active ingredients and fragrances are then gently mixed in.

What matters with a high powder content?

Low-dust powder induction, high shear for deagglomeration and a powerful scraper agitator for the high viscosity.

Which machine is suitable?

Robust vacuum homogenising mixers with a scraper system independent of the direction of rotation, infinitely adjustable shear energy and CIP.

Does SEEFRIED supply plants for masks?

Yes, we design plants and offer inspected used homogenising mixers for masks, creams and pastes.
