Hair care products are used after washing the hair, which is why their pH value is usually in the acidic range. This allows them to smooth the hair surface, improve combability and support hair repair. We design and supply plants that enable you to manufacture these products reliably. More on this under Cosmetics.
Typical ingredients
The composition of hair care cosmetics sometimes varies considerably. Frequently included are:
What the plant should deliver
Manufacturing takes place in several steps. Powerful homogenising mixers perform the following tasks:
- Process water and fat phases with heat or in the cold process
- Melt, dissolve or mix raw materials directly before addition
- Stir highly viscous components safely and homogenise them
- Reduce particle size and, by dispersing distribute active ingredients finely
- Control the pH value throughout production
- CIP cleaning in line with the current state of the art and hygiene regulations
Related products such as shampoo or hair conditioner can often be made on the same plants. We will be happy to advise you, including on used mixers.
FAQ: Manufacturing hair care products
Which hair care products are manufactured with homogenising mixers?
Rinses and conditioners, hair treatments and masks, leave-in products, styling gels and creams as well as shampoos.
Why do hair care products have an acidic pH value?
A slightly acidic pH value closes the cuticle of the hair. The hair becomes smoother, shinier and easier to comb.
Hot or cold manufacturing?
Both are possible. Emulsions containing wax and fat are usually made hot, while many modern formulations are also made cold. The plant should be able to handle both processes.
Which plant is suitable?
Vacuum homogenising mixers with a scraper agitator, phase vessels, pH measurement and CIP that also process highly viscous products reliably.
Does SEEFRIED offer plants for hair care?
Yes, we design process plants and supply inspected used homogenising mixers.
